Drawing "Human observing the sea" by Kazimiera Zimblytė, circa 1980 Born 1933 in Briedžiūnai (Ukmergė district), passed away in 1999 in Vilnius - Kazimiera Zimblytė was a pioneer of Lithuanian minimalism and abstractionism. She is a major developer of one of the most radical branches of abstract material painting in Lithuania despite censorship and creative restraint during the years of occupation. Zimblytė graduated from the Textile department of the State Art Institute of Lithuania in 1959, was a member of the artist group "1“. Her works are in the collection of the Lithuanian Art Museum, Mo Museum and private galleries and collectors in Lithuania and abroad.
