Welcome to Art & Potatoes (A&P) — the art marketplace for creators and collectors. Here’s everything you need to know:
For Artists / Sellers
1. How do I start selling on A&P?
Create an account, set up your profile, and list your artworks. Include good photos, a short story about your piece, and shipping info.
Once approved, your work becomes visible to buyers worldwide.
2. What can I sell?
You can sell original artworks, limited editions, prints, sculptures, ceramics, photography, books, zines, and small art objects. We welcome both emerging and established artists — but no mass-produced goods, AI art, or replicas.
3. How much commission does A&P take?
A&P takes a 10% commission from each completed sale (from the seller). This helps cover platform operations, payment processing, and marketing.
There’s also a 1% buyer protection fee (from the buyer, minimum €1). That covers safe payment handling and dispute support.
4. How do I get paid?
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. After your order is marked as delivered and received, Stripe sends your payout.
For artworks: payout happens when the buyer confirms receipt, or automatically 14 days after you mark the order as delivered (if they don’t confirm).
For bookings (if used): payout is sent 2 days after the booking ends.
Stripe usually takes 5–10 business days to transfer the money to your bank account.
You can always check payout status in your Stripe Dashboard.
5. What happens if I don’t ship the order?
You must ship within 5 business days after receiving an order. If nothing happens within 14 days, the order is automatically canceled and the buyer gets a full refund.
Both sides receive email notifications if that happens.
6. Who handles shipping?
You do! You choose the shipping carrier (DHL, UPS, local post, courier, etc.) and add tracking if possible. Buyers pay shipping based on your settings in the listing.
You’re responsible for packaging safely and shipping on time.
7. Can I use my artwork photos elsewhere?
Yes! You keep full copyright. By listing on A&P, you simply allow us to showcase your listing photos on social media or ads to promote the platform — with credit to you.
8. What about taxes?
You’re responsible for any taxes related to your sales (like income tax or VAT, if applicable in your country). A&P doesn’t withhold or file taxes on your behalf.
For Buyers / Collectors
1. How do I buy art on A&P?
Just create an account, find a piece you love, and click Buy. You’ll be redirected to a secure checkout via Stripe.
2. How is my payment protected?
Payments are held safely by Stripe until you confirm you’ve received the artwork (or after 14 days, if you don’t respond). This ensures both sides are protected.
There’s also a 1% buyer protection fee (min €1) that supports dispute resolution and transaction safety.
3. What if the artwork never arrives?
If you don’t receive your item, contact the seller first. If it’s not resolved, open a dispute via A&P support — we’ll step in to help.
If the seller doesn’t ship or respond within 14 days, the order will automatically cancel and you’ll get a full refund.
4. What are the shipping costs?
Shipping is set by each seller based on their location and chosen carrier. You’ll see the shipping cost on the product page before checkout.
5. Can I return an artwork?
Each artist can set their own return policy. If you have issues, please reach out directly to the seller first. If no agreement is reached, contact hello@artandpotatoes.com.
Disputes & Protection
1. What if something goes wrong with an order?
If the item never arrives, is damaged, or not as described:

Our team will review the case and, if necessary, issue a refund through Stripe.
2. What is the “Buyer Protection Fee”?
It’s a small 1% fee (minimum €1) paid by the buyer on every order. It helps cover dispute resolution, payment protection, and customer support.
Privacy & Data
1. Who owns my data?
You do. We only collect what’s needed to run the platform and process transactions. You can request deletion or access to your data anytime by emailing hello@artandpotatoes.com .
2. Who processes payments?
All payments and payouts are handled by Stripe . We never store your full card or bank details.
3. Who handles shipping data?
When you buy something, your name, address, and phone are shared only with the seller so they can ship your order. The seller might share it with their chosen carrier (e.g. DHL, local courier). A&P doesn’t control which carrier the seller uses.
4. Can I delete my account?
Yes. Email hello@artandpotatoes.com and we’ll help you close your account and delete your data (except what’s required by law for payments or invoices).
