Zine "Edible thoughts" by Adelina Sasnauskaitė

This is an A4-sized zine (a self-published mini-book) "Edible thoughts" by Adelina Sasnauskaitė. It is filled with colourful drawings that mix three main ideas: food, erotica, and advertising. The artist, Adelina Sasnauskaitė, uses these images to show how we "consume" everything in modern life. The drawings are made with felt-tip pens and pastels and printed on paper. The colours are bright and loud. Adelina Sasnauskaitė is a Lithuanian-born painter and tattoo artists currantly living and working in Senegal. She holds a BA in Illustration and Visual Media from the London College of Communication. Her work has been exhibited at a variety of shows across London and Manchester. Her artistic practice explores feminine identity and the feeling of ‘being watched’. In her works, women come first. Femininity is performed in a variety of forms and angles. She plays with the aesthetics of 80s magazines and posters, elements of bling culture and adult entertainment, mixing symbols from the Eastern and Western worlds.
