Hello, I'm Ieva Tulaitė.

If I had to describe my work in two words, it would be in my native language, lithuanian: būtis buityje. Roughly translated, it would be "the existential being in the household". Existential, everyday existence mixed with eroticism, personal experiences, a touch of chaos, a touch of boredom, and a little bit of magical realism. I use materials that at first glance seem worthless, unusable, or used for a completely different purpose as the basis for my works. A frequent motif is torn tights or curtains - I am interested in the different human experiences accumulated in the materials. Through this secondary use, the painting takes on a multi-layered meaning, filled with personal experiences. For me, the material is a tool for conveying the feeling I create while painting, with the expectation that this feeling will bounce off the canvas and touch the viewer.
